Biography
Anne Bödekker, born in 1988, is a nationally certified fashion designer (Lette-Verein, Berlin) and a qualified painting conservator (Palazzo Spinelli, Florence). For more than twenty years she has lived and worked in Hamburg as both an artist and costume designer.
Her paintings are deeply influenced by her fascination with the ocean — its intensity, volatility, and the fragile line between beauty and menace. She explores themes of transience, fleeting moments, and the way people mirror themselves in the shifting face of nature.
Recently, Bödekker's artistic journey has taken her from the coastal mists of the North to the arid landscapes of Nevada. At the Burning Man Festival, she finds inspiration in a world where more than 70,000 people gather annually to create a temporary city — a surreal, “Mad Max"-like realm in which human vanity and conflict dissolve into dust storms and leave behind only impermanent traces in the sand.
