Celio Koko

Celio Koko is a contemporary Belgian-Lebanese artist who has achieved success in his third decade. His work pays homage to the neo-expressionist movement with a marked presence of abstract figurative art. His career is the result of a never-ending journey of experimentation.
Born in Belgium on July 13, 1983, he then moved to Africa and lived between Uganda, Tanzania and Congo for about 8 years. During this period, he developed a lasting relationship with tribal life, animals and raw nature, which would influence his work in the future.
Around the age of 28, and after a near-death experience, Celio was inspired to find his passion through art. At first, he viewed the creative process as an escape to a better reality, before later adopting it as a means of self-realization.
Koko's artistic identity is pure freedom of self-expression, rejecting all limits and refusing defined classification. Using multiple media and techniques, and through extensive practice, he has managed to carve out a successful path in today's art scene. Composing works that are both two-dimensional and three-dimensional, he plays with colors, shapes and compositions.
After participating in group and individual exhibitions, he was represented by several prestigious galleries such as the Aout Gallery and the Belvedere Art Space. Celio's works have been acquired by many art lovers and are now part of many private collections around the world.
Now, and after 13 years in the studio, Celio's passion for art grows further, developing what may well be a unique line of visual expression.
