How are prices set?

Works cost exactly the same on Artsper as they do in galleries.


The price of each artwork is set by the gallery and the artist based on various criteria, such as the artist's rating and reputation, the quality of the work, its size, its medium, method of production and so on.

How do you check the quality of an artwork?

All the galleries featured on Artsper have been screened by our panel of experts to ensure that they are credible, trustworthy and professional. Our panel also verifies the quality of the artworks and artists represented by these galleries. Each artwork has been checked by experts from both the gallery and Artsper.


We also ask galleries to provide as much information as possible about their artworks in their descriptions; for example, whether the work is a unique piece or part of an edition, or whether it is signed by the artist. In addition, the majority of artworks are shipped with a certificate of authenticity confirming that they are originals. This certificate is signed by the artist, the gallery or a qualified expert.

Can I negotiate the price of an artwork?

For some artworks, you can negotiate the price. If the price of the work is negotiable there will be a 'Make an offer' option under the 'Add to cart' button.


To submit your offer, you must make a payment of the desired amount. Your offer will then be saved and forwarded to the gallery, who reserves the right to accept or reject it. How do I purchase a gift card?

You can purchase an Artsper gift card by clicking the Gift Card link located in the site homepage or footer. Enter the gift card amount you wish to purchase click “Purchase” to proceed to checkout. You will receive the gift card by email immediately upon purchase. Note that discounts and promotions cannot be applied to the purchase of a gift card.

Why does the gallery need to confirm my order?

Once you've placed your order, the gallery has 5 business days to confirm that the artwork is available and dispatch it. In most cases, this step proceeds quickly and the artwork is promptly dispatched.


However, there are a few rare cases where the order may be rejected or delayed. For example, the artwork may have been sold in the gallery or at an art fair a few days prior to your order; the artwork may be being exhibited at a fair; or the gallery may be unavailable due to a business trip, holidays, and so on. If this is the case, you will be notified and, if applicable, you will be refunded. Our customer service team reviews each case individually and is always on hand to assist you.

Who is responsible for delivering my artwork?

You can choose either to collect your artwork from the gallery or have it delivered.


  • - If you choose to collect the artwork from the gallery, you’ll receive an email from us indicating the date you can pick up your item from the gallery

  • - If you opt for delivery, the gallery will be responsible for shipping your artwork. Our partner galleries work with carriers specialising in express artwork shipping.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery time will depend on your country of residence and where the artwork is being shipped from. As soon as the gallery has confirmed your order and shipped your artwork, you'll receive an email indicating the carrier's name, the tracking number, the estimated delivery date and your invoice.

Do I have to pay shipping costs?

Shipping costs are indicated on each artwork's description page. You are responsible for these costs, which are calculated based on the shipping destination as well as the weight and size of your artwork.

Customs duties

Once your order reaches its destination, it may be subject to VAT or other custom fees. These charges are beyond our control and you will be responsible for paying them. Please contact the customs officials in your country for more information about these charges.


There are no custom duties on artworks shipped within European Union member states (as well as Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein). Information about the artwork’s country of origin is indicated in the cart details once the order is processed.

Got a problem with your order?

Has something gone wrong with your order? Has your artwork not been delivered? Was it not what you expected? Or has it arrived damaged?


Sometimes things go wrong, and we're really sorry about that. Remember that you have 14 days after receiving your artwork to report any issues. Please contact our customer service team who will help you resolve any problem you might have: serviceclient@artsper.com

Returns and refunds

If you live in an EU member state and if the gallery is also located in one of these countries, you can return the artwork without needing to provide a reason or pay a penalty fee up to 14 days after receiving your order. In case the right of withdrawal is exercised in the aforementioned time frame, the price of the artwork(s) purchased and the shipping costs will be reimbursed by us as soon as the gallery has received the artwork and notified us. Artsper will manage the return of the work and will bear the cost of returns (which will either be paid by you and refunded by Artsper or directly paid by Artsper). The artwork must be returned in perfect condition and in its original packaging (or equivalent). The buyer exercises his right of withdrawal directly from MUMART, by sending an email to the address serviceclient@artsper.com.


If your order does not meet the above two conditions (country of residence and the time limit), the gallery may refuse to provide a refund as is not legally obliged to do so. However, our customer service team can get in touch with the gallery to try to find a solution, so please don't hesitate to contact us.

How do I pay for my order?

We accept the following credit or debit cards: Visa, American Express, MasterCard and Carte Bleue, as well as Paypal payments.


You can also pay by wire transfer, in which case your order will go through once your transfer is confirmed.


We take fraud prevention and data privacy very seriously, which is why all payments go through 3D Secure authentication.

How do I get an invoice for my order?

You can download your invoice from your account page once you’ve received our email confirming that your order has been shipped.

How do I redeem a gift card?

You can redeem your Artsper gift card upon checkout. During the payment step of checkout, enter your gift card number in the designated section and the gift card amount will be subtracted from your total. You can use many gift cards on the same order. Any remaining balance on your order can be paid either by credit card or by PayPal.

I'm a gallery. How can I sell artworks on Artsper?

First, you need to go to the Artsper gallery website and fill out the form displayed in the middle of the page.


Once you've submitted this form, our panel of experts will review your application carefully. If your application is approved, we'll get in touch with you to tell you more about Artsper and to complete your registration.

How do we select our partner galleries?

A panel of experts is responsible for selecting our partner galleries according to the following objective: to strike a balance between an extensive and diversified offering and a high-quality catalogue of artworks.


Various criteria come into play here, including the gallery's general approach, the artists it represents, the art fairs it attends, and how it promotes its artists.

I'm an artist. Can I exhibit my work on Artsper?

First of all, thank you for your interest in Artsper. However, we're sorry to inform you that we only work directly with galleries. Please contact us again if you happen to work with a gallery in the future and are still interested in selling your work on Artsper.

I'm a private collector. Can I sell my artworks or have them valued on Artsper?

We don't sell any artworks from private collections and we are unable to assist with valuations. We recommend you get in touch with a valuations expert or an auction house. It's always preferable to get several opinions so that you have better overall estimate of your artwork's value.
