Paris - France

From October, 20 to October, 24 2016

Because contemporary art is based on experiments of modern art, including the desire to get art out of traditional and institutional places, 8th Avenue salon celebrates contemporary creation, by offering young galleries and confirmed galleries to present and defend their artists in a pavilion erected along the Champs-Elysées, in front of the Grand Palace and the Fair Art Elysees - Art and Design, during the autumn week of art in Paris.
8th Avenue opens its doors for its second edition from 20 to 24th October. Participating in the excitement of this week of the art in Paris, this new show will be a place of economic and cultural exchanges.
An ambitious event which was greeted enthusiastically by the galleries wishing to be present at this important appointment in the year and also keen to find an event that meets their requirements.

Franck Le Feuvre, director and founder at Galerie Le Feuvre in Paris, is the artistic director of the urban art section of 8th Avenue. He gives pride to the "Street Art" still too often left out of major meetings dedicated to contemporary art. The 8th Avenue Salon celebrates the "enfant terrible" of contemporary art. The Urban Art, initiated in 1965, although on a confidential scale, by famous artists like Buren, Hains, Villeglé and Basquiat, is experiencing a real expansion around many contemporary artists of international renown. The Urban art becomes a major sector of contemporary art, where Paris has an important place.

A number of galleries in France and abroad were selected. Among them, major representatives of urban art in France as Brugier-Rigail Gallery, Mathgoth Gallery, and David Pluskwa Contemporary Art, Baudoin Lebon, Lelia Mordoch, Galerie W ...
On arrival to the ephemeral pavilion of 8th Avenue, visitors will admire the work of German artist Marc C.Woehr presented by Urban Art gallery in Stuttgart. This year, the organizers present a formal exhibition of a selected works by Raymond Hains, precursor of urban art, in collaboration with the Galerie W. Alongside this exhibition, 8th Avenue invites the public to discover cultural institutions like the Pocket Museum and Maison Elsa Triolet - Aragon.
