ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Twentiest edition of Paris Photo, international art fair dedicated to photographic medium, essential event for dealers, collectors, curators, artists and art lovers.

The vocation of Paris Photo since its start in 1997, is to gather around galleries and international publishers, a selection of works based on the photographic medium, vintage prints to the most contemporary works. The fair has evolved rapidly, as the popularity was immediate. In 1999, 80 exhibitors participating in the fair, versus 50 two years ago, wearing the colors of 16 countries. They were 97 in 2000, 100 in 2002, the redemption date of the fair by Reed Exhibitions.

The implantions of the fair at the Grand Palais in 2011, allowed Paris Photo to continue its rise with 135 exhibitors, 23 countries represented, and an enhanced programming with the offered additional areas: The Platform, bringing together twenty conversations, recent acquisitions exhibitions of major institutions and private collections, the price of the book Paris PhotoAperture Foundation, and in situ signatures program grows each year.

Today, we expect about 60 000 visitors who will discover 153 galleries in the nave and in the Salon d'Honneur PRISM, section dedicated to large formats and series. 30 international publishers supplement this market offers, while exhibitions of our official partners, JP Morgan with part of his collection, and BMW with Alinka Echeverria, as well as those of our associated partners, the Oscar Barnack award at Leica, Omar Victor Diop Pernod Ricard, young artists at Huawei, enrich the content of the fair.

The 20th edition of the fair this year also deserved an exceptional complementary programming. It will be published with both historical and contributory, published by Xavier Barral, reflecting the highlights of Paris Photo. Outside the Grand Palais, a carte blanche is given Dallaporta which offer travelers to the North Station conducted a new work specially on a 30m long fence.

This 20th edition is intended to collect, enrich, educate, and inspire debates and meetings.
