Extending and completing the first exhibition in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art of Ixelles, municipality of Brussels, presents Fabrizio La Torre's gaze on his hometown in the 1950s. The artist remembers that at that time the people in the street were very easily photographed. They didn’t feel like their image was being stolen, as it would be a few years later with the arrival of paparazzi and camera-wrapped tourists.
The solid international reputation enjoyed by the Museum of Ixelles is obviously a pleasure and an honor of which the artist, present on site, is very aware. Especially since this exhibition benefits from a strong mobilization of the large Italian community in Belgium and the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Brussels. A slightly rainy summer further confirms the good attendance figures for this exhibition (from June 22 to September 4, 2011).
