Presentation

This summer Agon-Coutainville revisits its past and that of "Club Mickey", photographed in the 1950s by Marc Held, well-known locally under the name "Marco". Marc Held, born in 1932, is an architect and designer of international renown. In 1983 he was one of five designers chosen by Jack Lang to redesign the private apartments of the official residence of the French president.

In 1950, when he discovered Agon-Coutainville, he was a young, active man who founded along with his friend "Polo" (Paul Auguin), the Nautical Club of Coutainville, the predecessor of "Club Mickey". Marco and Polo livened up the local swimming courses and encouraged its instruction in the open sea. Marc Held, with his camera nearby, put all this on film. 60 years later, these humanist photos will be on display all summer long in Agon-Coutainville.

This photographic exhibition is available to view on the public boardwalks next to the beach, and at the Petit Office.
