Sculptor, painter, screen printer, he was trained by two Cameroonian masters in visual arts: Jean Kouam Tawadje and Joseph Francis Sumégné. He works on themes as diverse as peace, justice or human identity. His experiments in salvaged sculptures have given rise to series such as Adieu les guerres, The poetry of metal, The digital destiny. Concerned about meetings and sharing, he participates in theatrical, cinematographic or animation creation projects. His works are periodically visible in exhibitions in Africa, the United States as well as in Europe. He notably exhibited his metal poetry at Doual'art; at the Institute of Fine Arts in Foumban; CAPE TOWN ART FAIR in South Africa or Gängeviertel in Hamburg in Germany. Joe Okitawonya was born in 1978 in Kinshasa; a national of the Democratic Republic of Congo, he benefits from a university scholarship in Algeria where he resided as the only student from sub-Saharan Africa and the first Congolese to have studied at the higher school of fine arts from Algiers. Painting exhibition "The G Point of painting" at the Gallery Rêves d'Afrique 2012 Collective exhibition "IDENTITE (S)" at the gallery Racim in Algiers. He is the founder in 2010 of pongeeism. He defines himself as a Pongeist artist. “The name“ point G ”was mentioned for the first time in 1983 by ADDIEGO (*) in homage to Doctor GRAFENBERG (*) who demonstrated the existence of this erogenous zone in women in 1950. Joe considers the painting as being a living being endowed with a sensitivity, allowing him to convey a message by its content. Sandrine Suères, professional ceramist since August 2004, She chose to work with the raku technique because it is for her the most expressive way to get closer to natural elements such as earth and fire. His work is inspired by the cultures and arts of Asia and Africa. She designs her creations from A to Z, from clay modeling to cooking. By approaching her new project # 100 scarves, the painter COK echoes her childhood memories and as a woman refers her perception of the object, her aesthetic to the current world and to the transformation of the word scarf that certain movements are trying to reinscribe in the popular mind. She lifts the veil on the attempt to divert this word by highlighting and coloring these anonymous women in the center of the painting. Their scarf becomes a standard, an ostentatious symbol for freedom. She participated until 2010 in many events, she presented to UNESCO in 2015 for the week of Africa her new project entitled: # 100foulards. You can reach us by phone to arrange an appointment to organize a visit outside of opening hours.
