The STARS WORLD collective exhibition at La Maison Blanche brings together five artist's views on celebrities, and a Parisian symbol: The Eiffel Tower which faces the magnificent terrace of the main room of the chic restaurant on avenue Montaigne. Richard Melloul, Tony Frank or Maurice Renoma have photographed international celebrities, such as Mohamed Ali, Bob Dylan, or Serge Gainsbourg. Produced between the 70s and 90s, the works presented in black and white or in color illustrate personalities from the world of sport, music, models and actresses. Elodie Grégoire and Claude Guillaumin seize universal symbols such as the Eiffel Tower or the city of New York. The emblem of Paris is also a monument in vogue among artists of the late 19th and 20th centuries. It appears in the paintings of Robert Delaunay, the black and white photographs of Robert Doisneau or Marc Riboud. Elodie Grégoire immortalizes the symbol that made and still inspires dreams - an untouchable icon that sits in the sky. Claude Guillaumin's images, above all taken in the 1970s, revolve around the rapid development of the metropolis. The verticality of New York architecture is complemented by beauty or fashion photographs that convey the image of a city where dreams come true.
