The "Carte Blanche at the Art Galleries" exhibition, from the city of Boulogne-Billancourt is back From Friday 9th March to 18th March, 2018. Pierre Jamet

Close to Doisneau and Willy Ronis, Pierre Jamet holds a special place in humanist photography. Starting in the 1930s he photographed freely, to "prolong the ephemeral and save the moment", places, but most often people, a subject on which he has always been warm and empathic. From his photos emerges an undeniable "joie de vivre".

Leroy Woodson

Originally American, the son of diplomat, LeRoy Woodson Jr spent his childhood in France, then embarked on a career as a journalist and photographer in the United States. During his long career, he collaborated with Gamma and Contact, as well as with famous magazines such as National Geographic (1973-1982), Geo, Washington Post, Newsweek, Life Magazine, Forbes, Fortun and Business. Week. During the 1970s, he produced a major photographic work including Yoko Ono and John Lennon's photograph taken on October 9, 1971, at the press conference of the exhibition "This Is Not Here", presented to the Everson Museum of Art of Syracuse.

Pierre Faure

Born in 1972 in Nicen, Pierre Faure studied economics. For several years he has devoted himself entirely to photography. He first produced a work in which abstraction and organic evocations occupied a central place (series rhizomes, folds, palimpsests); a series that questions the spectator's gaze and plays with notions of scale and perspective. He also addresses social issues in his immersive work in a Roma community in Ile-de-France (2011-2012). In 2013, Pierre Faure was interested in the lives of people in great precariousness, who are housed in an emergency shelter and tries to capture the figures of a wounded humanity in this daily life. Since 2015, he has been working to document the precariousness of rural areas throughout France.

Marc Held

Born in 1932, Marc Held is above all considered one of the essential designers of the 70s but he is also and above all an extraordinary, self-taught, multidisciplinary career, He discovered photography at almost twenty years old, drawn to the "heart in the eyes", according to the formula of Philippe Soupault. His photographic work, associating simplicity and fantasy, with about 300 images, is like his work as a designer and architect, a work carried by the desire of a creator at once classic and libertarian, a man characterized by his dazzling inspirations. We will discover the view of a photographer who has reported, in black and white, the world he knew when he was twenty and whose pictures come to enrich the diversity of views on humanistic photography, often restricted to some big names. The Paris of the Poor of the post-war period, the political demonstrations, the children in the study, the games, the carousel and at guignol, the adults at the beach, the Corrèze of his childhood, the demonstrations from 1958 ... Marc Held, driven by the desire to bear witness, photographed the world around him. His photographs suggests rather that he does not describe, givesa view of a world where the humanistic values ​​which are dear to him reign.

Anthony Barboza

Represented since 2008 by VOZ'Galerie, this African-American artist, photographer, writer and historian, began his career as a photographer in 1964 with Atelier Kamoinge. After working as a photographer in the U.S. Navy for three years, he opened his photography studio in New York in 1969. For the next ten years, he became one of the hottest advertising and fashion photographers. His works are now in many private collections or museums such as the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Studio Museum of Harlem, the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall in Taipei, Taiwan, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston or the Museum of Modern Art in New York which has in its collections "Nigila, NYC, 1973".

Jean Ribière

Born in Niort on February 9, 1922, Jean Ribière began his career in the photo service of the newspaper L'Indépendant des Pyrénées Orientales in 1940. In 1944, he married Micheline Vialle and created, with her, their own news agency, Ribière Presse Photos . They were soon selling their reports to more than one hundred French and foreign newspapers and magazines: L'Express, L'Aurore, Match, Keystone, BBC London ... Recognized by the profession for their constant action to defend authors' rights , Jean invested heavily in the main national professional associations of photographers. In the 1950s, their subjects diversified into everyday French life, and the couple traveled for several years to French departments to highlight traditions, rural life, and small trades. A renowned photographer, he was the National Vice President of the A.N.J.R.P.C. (National Association of Journalists Reporters Photographers and Filmmakers), whose President was Robert Doisneau and the main members Henri Cartier-Bresson and Raymond Depardon.
