Presentation
The project G8/750, which Pasqualotto presented in 2015, will be shown almost entirely at PontArte. It is the first time that the work can be seen in a gallery, after being exhibited at the Museum L'Harmonia in Hospitalet, in the Museu de Papell de Cappallades and some works were part of the exhibition LUMA in the Museum at the Vrijthof in 2016-2017.

The exhibition can be seen from 16 March to 17 April 2019 at PontArte in Kapoenstraat 29 in Maastricht. The opening takes place on Saturday 16 March at 4 pm in the gallery. Mario Pasqualotto will be present at the opening and will explain his work on request. During the TEFAF (14 - 24 March) we are open daily from 11 am to 5 pm. G8 / 750 Stars, the vault of heaven Three ingredients, distilled from the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, Mario Pasqualotto used for the project G8 / 750 stars. The ultramarine blue colour, the almond shape and the symbol of the star; Pasqualotto has translated the work of Giotto, which completely painted the chapel in 1300, into the 21st century.

Works made of paperpulp in Ultramarine and gold leaf and often with Led or Neon lighting full of symbolism. That Pasqualotto uses symbols and colours and de-composing works from the past is not new. His work can be recognized by symbolism, idols, concepts and meanings. He has previously unravelled Monet and investigates mortality on the basis of materials and textures. For this project the immediate cause was the death of his father from Italy. In early 2014, Pasqualotto visited the Scrovegni chapel in Padua and translated the impression that this has made on him into a series of works that are very poetic. The shape of the chapel, the symbolism of Christianity, the 750 stars in the roof of the chapel, the colour blue and gold, everything can be traced back to the work of Giotto. Mario Pasqualotto The work of Pasqualotto is not easy to summarize. In the 1970s he was strongly influenced by the Arte-Povera, a movement originating from Italy. The use of base materials is reflected in much of Pasqualotto's work. Whether it be branches, plastic bags, piano strings or feathers, everything is used to make the art works. His work is characterized by a philosophical content and meaning.

The work is not only aesthetically pleasing, but there is also a meaning, a deeper search in many of his works. What characterizes his work is that he starts every project from scratch. The idea is ultimately translated into a work that takes shape through an experiment with materials and techniques. Pasqualotto has exhibited his first solo exhibition in Bergamo, Italy around the world since the 70s. His work has been purchased by museums and collectors. He is currently preparing an exhibition at the Montserrat Museum, and from April 2019 in Amarante, Portugal, an overview of his work can be seen in the museum Municipal Museum Amadeo de Souza Cardoso. Kapoenstraat 29, Maastricht Open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm. And of course by appointment.
