Presentation

Kenny Williams Tjampinjimpa is the son of Naata Nungurrayi and the younger brother of Ronnie Tjampinjimpa, two renowned painters who are among the most collected Aboriginal artists. He was born in 1950, his family joined Papunya in 1963, brought by one of the patrols of the "Welfare indigents patrol" (the social service responsible for regrouping the Aborigines). He then lived in Balgo at the northwestern limit of the Great Sand Desert where he found members of his clan (Pintupis) who had settled there. He now lives in Kintore on ancestral lands. Its neat and traditional style is very popular with collectors. Over the past ten years, like many pintupi male artists, his style has evolved towards linear, angular and kinetic patterns.
