Cynthia Wheeler Nakamarra was born in 1974. She is an artist from the Warlukurlangu Art Centre, located in Yuendumu, Northern Territory.
Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation of Yuendumu was incorporated in 1986. Warlukurlangu is a not for profit organisation that has more than 600 members, all of whom are Indigenous artists. It is directed by an executive committee of eight men and eight women representing all the 'skin groups'. It meets regularly to set policy, make decisions about the organisation and direct staff.
The art from Warlukurlangu Artists has become recognized for its bold use of colour. The paintings tell the story of the artists connection to their country, the features of the landscape, the plants and animals that are found there and the creation myths that occurred in the Dreamtime.
