Born in: 1979

Lanita Numina is an Australian artist born in 1979 near Tennant Creek, Australia. She attended the school of Kormilda College in Darwin. Lanita comes from a family of six sisters and two brothers and her mother Barbara Price is also an artist from Stirling Station, near Tennant Creek. Lanita currently lives in Darwin with her two sisters, Jacinta and Louise Numina, who are also renowned artists.

Lanita is influenced by Aboriginal culture, including the work of her aunts, Goria and Kathleen Petyarre, who are among the greatest Aboriginal artists and have exhibited in museums such as the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris, the Musée des Confluences In Lyon and the British Museum in London.

Her works represent in a refined impressionist style figs, potatoes or berries from the Bush, Australian term used to designate the suburbs of Australian cities and more generally the way of life outside the urban areas.
