Leah Sampson Nampijinpa was born in 1990 in Australia, in the aboriginal community of Yuendumu. Her mother is an artist and passed on her passion for painting. Once graduated, she left school in 2006 and began painting for the Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation, a center of aboriginal art whose aim is to promote culture of communities, still present in Australia.
Leah Sampson Nampijinpa draws inspiration from stories which are passed on to her from her family for generations. The Ngapa Jukurrpa, meaning "Dream of water", is a theme which is recurrent in her work.
