Tarisse King

Born in 1986 - Australia

BIOGRAPHY

Tarisse King was born in southern Australia in 1986. Aboriginal painting is a tradition in her family. She is an Australian aboriginal from her father side, who belongs to the Gurindji clan.

Just like her ancestors, Tarisse King likes to show the inalienable connection that her people have with the land. She spent her childhood in Darwin, in Northern Australia, a region with extreme climatic conditions, affected by cyclones and by terrible droughts, which inspires the artist. Her pieces are influenced by her trips throughout Australia. From her multiple inspirations, Tarissa King creates compositions anchored in aboriginal traditions and in contemporary art. Her perception of the earth makes her paint in a topographically, resulting in the capturing of the land's soul.

Tarrise King's work has been exposed in more than 20 exhibitions throughout Australia. Her pieces are part of private collections and have been sold in auctions in the Parisian house of auctions Artcurial.
