Frédéric Durieu

Born in 1967 in Brussels, Frédéric Durieu has been a new media artist since 1994. After studying polytechnics, he created Magic Media, a multimedia company in Brussels before moving to Paris in 1998. He created LeCielEstBleu, a collective of interactive arts artists. The poetry of mathematics and algorithms becomes his passion. His interactive works are exhibited in many prestigious spaces such as the Center Pompidou, the Design Museum in London, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris or the Palais de Tokyo. His work has also been rewarded with numerous prizes such as the SACD Prize for New Writings, the SCAM Grand Prix and the Moebius International Grand Prize. Saint-Laurentais for almost 15 years, Frédéric continues to explore the possibilities of his art. For his new collection Infinitive, he wrote a software of more than 10,000 lines which is an interactive work in itself and is also an aid in the composition of new creations that can be made in the form of paintings or installation.
