Born in 1961 - Belgium
Philippe Colpaert aka Le Closier is a Belgian street artist, he was born in 1961. He lives between Paris and Miami.
Self-taught, he became famous for his tennis player portraits such as Serena Williams, Kei Nishikori, Gustavo Kuerten, David Goffin, Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Jeremy Chardy or the American golfer Cristie Kerr and the President of Paris Saint -Germain Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
His unique urban style is a combination of pop art (Warhol, Basquiat, Lichtenstein) and street-art (Banksy, Mr. Brainwash). In May 2016, he did the Street Art Players exhibition with Onemizer, Spark and the French sculptor Richard Orlinski at the Perahia Gallery in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Some weeks later, he was chosen by the France Pavilion to make a portrait of Stephen Breyer, a member of the American Supreme Court, for the French/American Business Week at the French Embassy in Washington, DC. His works are depicted in Paris, Los Angeles, Brussels, Melbourne, New York and Miami.
