Martina Dasnoy

Born in: 1940

Martina Dasnoy is a Belgium artist born in 1940. From 1980 to 1985 she studied Fine Arts at the University Complutense in Madrid.
She had her first collective exhibition in 1985 at the Fine Art University of Madrid, and her first individual exhibition in 1988 in the Joán Miró room of the Exhibition and Convention Center of Madrid.

Martina Dasnoy's art is strongly influenced by painters of the XXth century, as Matisse, Picasso, Kandinsky, Rothko, Miró or Kooning.
Color is at the center of her creations, it translate her optimistic vision of life. The artist has adopted the style of free figuration, which allowed her to combine a balanced composition and a diversified palette of colors. Her creations are the result of a harmonious research between compositions, tones, and colors, inspired by the kingdoms of Nature. The filaments, the leaves, the stairs, and the windows are the recurrent elements of her works that bring the spectator to a quiet world.

She practices a large diversity of techniques, oil painting, acrylics, watercolors, collages, charcoal, or even pastels, but also chalcography engraving, lithography and sculpture.

Martina Dasnoy has been exhibited in France, Spain, Italy, or even in Belgium: at the Anne Broitman Gallery in Biarritz in 2015, the Movart Gallery in Madrid in 2014, the Fernando Herencia Gallery in Madrid in 2012, the Ederti Gallery in Bilbao in 2012, the L’Autre Gallery in Brussels in 2010, or even at the Arte Paolo Nanni Gallery in Bologna in 2011, just to mention a few.
