Antoine de Vinck is a Belgian sculptor, born in 1924.

He first began with a religious education but quickly turned towards art. A self-taught artist initially, with his friend Guy de Sauvage. Later, in order to go improve his technique, he joined Institut supérieur des Arts Décoratifs de la Cambre in 1951.

During the “Maîtres potiers contemporains” exhibition in 1962, Antoine was acknowledged by his peers, he was the youngest exhibitor, surrounded by people who are famous today. He received a prize at the Faenza International competition.

His work as a sculptor beforehand is key in his pieces, especially drawing. This step allows him to develop his vocabulary on shapes and patterns. The sculptor draws many sketches before working on them. He draws inspiration from ancient and primitive cultures and is a fan of African art.

Antoine de Vinck has participated in several exhibitions in Europe and around the world, from Belgium to New York, via Johannesburg, Warsaw, Ankara, Vienna, London and Paris
