Noëlle Koning works in a closed space, in the middle of a studio that is full of light and of memories. She kneels in front of piles of ripped pieces of paper that she has been painting throughout time, that she explores, interrogates and organizes on her canvas.
She is constantly searching and putting aside moments in life that she notices and probably understands. She melts herself in the material, searching for a composition that unveils itself easily, in a fragile balance.
Ripped pieces of paper contradict the pleasure of painting the non-textured surfaces with rhythmic patterns and stains of color. Noëlle enters the space of memories, through this whole ritual that is a fight and a pleasurable experience at the same time.
