Mady Maeriën was born on March 16, 1969. She completed her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Geel, Belgium, her hometown. Beginning with the art of drawing and model drawing, she quickly understood that she could express herself even better in painting.
During the years 2006 to 2014, she mainly created oil paintings. The subjects being as figurative as abstract, the common thread in his works is colors, without any specific theme. By progressing Mady always seeks to improve and combine different techniques. This is why, in 2014, she began studying at the Academy of Graphic Art in Bilzen, Belgium.
From this moment Mady mainly makes intaglio, linocut and woodcut engravings. His graphic works are often combined with collages or processed photos. She also designs ex-libris, personalized engravings that a collector sticks inside the cover or on the cover page of her books, as a mark of belonging. Currently the ex-libris are really collector's items.
