Alexandre Keto is a committed artist. Far from the idea that art has no other goal than to delight the eyes of its spectators, he uses it to compensate for the social deficiencies which he observes in the course of his daily life and his travels.
Originally from Brazil, he travels the world in search of new surfaces to cover with his characters straight out of African iconography. Smooth walls, with roughness, textiles, metal curtains, his street art adapts to all scales and all supports to adorn them with the bright colors of his tribal inspirations.
Alexandre Keto lives in Sao Paulo and has always loved drawing and painting.
When he begins to practice graffiti, becoming part of the hip-hop movement, the artist quickly realizes that he wants those around him, especially the black community under-represented in Brazilian works, to come together. recognize in his art.
Thus, he began to represent African characters who gradually called out to people in his environment, in Sao Paulo. He quickly realizes that by identifying with these representations, people engage in discussion with him, expose their problems, their desires, their feelings.
Alexandre Keto is gradually taking the measure of the power that his art holds, a true vector of social cohesion, and has only one wish: to participate in the construction of a more just society.
