Julian Jordanov

Julian Jordanov was born on December 16, 1965 in Lovech, Bulgaria. In 1986 he graduated from the Art School "Ilia Petrov" in Sofia, and in 1995 he graduated from the National Academy of Arts "Nikolai Pavlovich" in Sofia, majoring in "Graphics", in the class of Prof. Petar Chuklev. Julian works in the field of graphics and bookplates. Since 1996 he has had more than 20 solo exhibitions in prestigious galleries in Varna, Burgas, Plovdiv, Sofia, as well as in galleries in Erfurt- Germany, Ankara and Izmir- Turkey, Antwerp- Belgium, Minsk- Belarus and in Tianjin- China. The artist has had more than 40 participations in the most prestigious world graphic forums, competitions and biennials for graphics and bookplates in China, Turkey, Japan, Poland, Hungary, Italy, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Belgium, France, Spain and other countries. 

He is very famous among ex-libris collectors from all around the world and has won over 15 different awards, some of which: an Honorary Diploma and the Award of the President of the Association of American Graphic Artists Mr. Martin Levine of the 8th International Biennial of Graphics in Varna in 1995, First Prize of the First International Ex Libris Competition in Ankara in 2003, First Prize of the 32nd FISAE EXLIBRIS EXHIBITION in Beijing, China (2008), Special Prize of the Museum of Graphic Art at the 33rd FISAE EXLIBRIS EXHIBITION in Istanbul (2010). Julian has won many Honorary Diplomas at prestigious forums in Gniezno-Poland, Lefkada-Greece, Sint-Niklaas-Belgium, Ankara-Turkey, Ourense-Spain, Special Prize for the 4th International Exhibition of Miniatures in London in 2000 and many others. Julian Jordanov is an Art Director of three editions of the International ExLibris Competition Varna (2014, 2016, 2018). He is a winner of the "Artist of the Decade 2008 - 2018" award of Art Gallery Largo. Julian lives and works in Sofia.
