Li Fang

A Chinese painter, born in the province of Jiangsu, Li Fang was a professor at the Fine arts school in China before coming to France in 2001. In the 90's, she did her studies at the Fine Art University in Nankin and Art Institute of Nankin. She finished her studies at the Sorbonne in Paris during 2002-2003 and dedicated herself to her passion.

In 2012, Li Fang was the winner at the Fondation Colas who placed an order for a painting the same year. Then in 2013, she exhibited at the Cernushi museum in Paris, which led her into selling three of her paintings. She got herself noticed quite a few times during private exhibitions in Europe (Switzerland, France), in China and USA, especially with her "Passants" and "Chinese Nudes" series.

Li Fang's re-appropriation of oil painting is captivating: ingeniously combining flat tint and stretching, her work on light and movement allows her to capture the present moment. Behind the simplicity of her paintings as she claims, the spectator has to look for the hidden meaning which is much more deeper and a true evidence for Li Fang's commitment.
