Yu Zhe Zhu

Zhu Yuze (Taoist name Xian Yunzi) is an artist and art theorist.

He works and lives in Beijing.

He was born in Beijing in 1963.

He studied at the History Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts of China in 1982.

He continued his studies at the Munich School of Philosophy and the Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts from 1994 to 1997.

He has published more than 30 essays in national and foreign journals.

He is the first artist to fully develop the combination of fractal theory and contemporary art. He also puts theory into practice with his own works.

His works have been exhibited in the United States and Europe and have been purchased by many renowned private collectors and galleries, both in China and abroad.

I reappropriate the techniques of calligraphy and ancestral Chinese drawing to make contemporary Chinese art. Inspired by Chinese landscapes, I gradually freed myself from the figuration that remains dominant in Chinese art to move towards abstraction. My synesthetic approach transcribes my surroundings and my sensations in the form of colored waves, almost mineral. Today, I would like to soak up the colors and vibrations of the Loire and face new landscapes.

I proposed the ideas of New Naturalism and Fractal Art, which is the exploration of science, and the analysis of philosophy. The two-dimensional space is expressed in my ink painting works, through the composition of colors in delicate differences all parts of the work, which enhance the harmony of color and texture. From the abstract effects, he naturally presented images of the nature and fantasy of the universe, that is, a kind of poetic language and romantic art forms that I always want to pursue.
