Presentation

Lin Zhi is a young Chinese artist, born in Shantou. Lin has a diploma in Fine Arts from the Academy of China, a double post graduation in Fine Arts, one from Slade School of fine art in London and the other from Delaware University in USA, 1992.

The "One Child" series sketches childlike people, highlighted with visual elements that indicate an impediment towards freedom. Paradoxically speaking, they incarnate innocence and fantasy of their initial years. Poetry revolves around the underlying political context. Joy emerges out of sociology-political issues and mainly the Chinese revolution.

Lin Zhi has exhibited in several museums at the heart of USA, UK, China (some of them: The Asian Art museum of San Francisco, the Oakland Museum of California, the Contemporary Arts Institute in London, the National Fine Art Museum of China…). Her work is part of major collections like Frye Art Museum or National Fine Art Museum of China. Her watercolor series « One child » received immediate success, from collectors in China. Lin Zhi received several awards and recognition « Creative Capital Foundation Grant in Panting » during 2000.
