Leo Juvier

I am a Cuban-American multimedia artist (Photography, Painting, Sculpture), model and writer living in Brussels, Belgium.

After completing my Philosophy Studies at the University of South Florida, I pursued an artistic career at the Art Students League of New York before moving to Europe. Philosophically, I am convinced that artists can see before philosophers can think. This belief has always shown me the path to follow as an artist, and it has fed my inspiration as a thinker.

I find that being a subject in someone’s work is always among the most beautiful and enriching experiences of my life. The dialogue between an artist and a model is always intimate, personal and a source of inspiration. I always try to be one of those subjects that you will never forget. I’m not only interested in the paintings or sculptures being created, but also in understanding the artist, the person, and his quest to leave a mark in the world through his art.

I am passionate about photography, sculpture, traveling and the discovery of new cultures. I have posed for a very large number of artists in all the major studios and academies of New York, as well as in France, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and Spain. Currently, I pose as a model at ESA-St-Luc - Brussels, De Kunsthumaniora - Antwerpen, Le Septantecinq - Woluwe, and at the Ecole des Arts de Braine-l'Alleud.

I studied sculpture under the direction of Martine Vaugel in France, and painting with Frank O'cain at the Art Students League of New York. My dream is to finish writing a dissertation inspired by my experience of exile, as well as to pursue my artistic activities throughout Europe.
