Born in 1959, Democratic Republic of Congo. Lives and works in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Shula fell into painting at the age of 15 as an assistant to her cousin Moke, one of the greatest popular Congolese artists. After his initiatory journey focused on popular art, he wanted to find his own style, to stand out from his famous mentor. These works is a true artistic encyclopedia narrating the world around it with a critical sense and a correct vision of social evolution. For several years, Shula has drawn his inspiration from the technological and digital revolution which forces us to live in a global village because, he believes, we are on a planet connected 24/7. Through his works, he describes a society overtaken by its own inventions but which invite man to transcend, to go beyond reality to advance in a future that is certainly cosmic but happy, a future spangled. Shula has participated in numerous exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
