Born in 1978 - France
Thomas Journot is a French photographer, born in 1978 in Besançon. He graduated from the audiovisual school in Toulouse and achieved his diploma in 2001. He worked for the press, companies, publishing houses as graphic designer, webmaster and creator of the publishing house « Les berceurs d’instantanés ». Journot is famous for his unusual and sensitive photo-reportage. He has managed to assert himself as a figure in the contemporary scene today. Through his photos, he wishes "to meet people and the contemporary world, describe human relations and coyly show unusual places and atmospheres".
His very graphic photos grasp reality in a different manner, like the towers at La Defense which are shown from a new angles or the damages of the AZF factory. The photographer also explores back stages of theatrical creations, with a sensitive and an aesthetically pleasing look. Thomas Journot digs up the "unexpected" covered with emotions. He doesn't lean on artifices or fortuitous complexities, his photos probe out the eye, detail or an environment.
Thomas Journot has been involved in several personal projects: exhibitions, publications, reports.
