Presentation

Frédéric Thomas is a French artist, born in 1970 in Sables d’Olonne. He is the Research Director at the National Center for Scientific Research in the South of France and specializes in animal tendencies. A self-taught artist, painting has turned into a daily life activity, since 2003.

According to Frédéric Thomas, it is much more easier to "capture" the unusual emotions which an animal or a human lets out, through art. His art is somewhat influenced by his training in biology, rich in allusion and behavioral tendencies pertaining to the animal world. The artist combines figurative and abstract art to create touching, mischievous and clumsy characters, who definitely bring a smile to the face. This is how he creates a joyful, naive and innocent world which makes an immediate effect on us.

Frédéric Thomas's work stands out through a fusion of scientific spirit and a sensitive artistic touch, which has become his trademark through the years. His canvases were sold to collectors all over the world and also appeared on the covers of several books.
