Biography
Patrice Donzel is a French photographer and illustrator, he was born in 1951 in Montelimar. He studied at Ecole normale instituteur in Valencia where he took art, photography and pottery lessons. After spending five years exploring these fascinating passions, he became a music teacher. Simultaneously, he worked with painters like Pierre Pellet and Jacques Dor, with authors Paul Thiès and Brigitte Smadja, illustrator Jean Siccardi and with Remy Girerd, animator of Folimage Studio. Following this, he decided to take a mobility leave to join the Fine Arts School of Valencia. He currently lives and works in Sete. Donzel is influenced by Pop art and modern language. The artist offers a series of colored and dynamic creations to the spectator. Patrice Donzel is a professional painter. He takes orders for lacquer and acrylic paintings but also retouches and restores many works. He equally specializes in digital image, and explores it in great detail. His work is mainly focused around woman which is an eternal source of inspiration according to him. In his creations, the artists wants women to be depicted as seductive and magnified. Filled with elegance, her sensuality is as intense as a savage muse, object of all desires. Unattainable, her naked body is portrayed under various types of lustful, suggestive and provocative poses. Patrice Donzel exhibited his works for the first time in 2013 during the Second Festival of comics in Sete, « La BD s’invite à la Plage ».
