The young artist started his career in advertising and graphic design, producing particularly comics. Through drawing and painting, he found his a way to express his perception of society.
His static characters are depicted in a mute cry. We find, in Louis Briane's paintings, the freedom and the style of the free figuration with images of robot-like humans, hieratic and tragicomic characters, but this freedom stops when it comes to the perfectly delineated color surfaces and to the very orchestrated composition.
His work is also influenced by primitive, and the layout of many of his small drawings in bright colors reveals an extremely meticulous process, reminding of the work of the medieval illuminators.
