Lamiel is a French visual artist passionate about travelling and creation. Attracted by drawing since she was very young, she discovered collage when she was just a teenager. She then started to use pieces of magazines for her creations influenced by Pop art. She obtained a bacherlor's degree in fine arts, and then joined a studio where she learned sculpture in terra cotta and drawing with a living model. The work of matter fascinates her. It was during this period that she became passionate about travelling, and started her expeditions to Africa. Today she still visits this continent whenever she cans.

Lamiel's work is directly inspired by her trips to Africa, from which she draws energy and inspiration. Tunisia, Senegal, Mali, Tasmania, Morocco, Egypt... Lamiel explores and learns, country after country. In Mali, the artist was challenged by the purity of this powerful and devouring land. Nature reigns, majestic and proud. Faced with the rampage of life and the breathlessness of men, the landscapes extend to infinity, empty, silent and motionless. The overwhelming heat, the crowds in the markets, the grace of women, the lives of nomads along the river... All these images remain recorded forever in Lamiel's mind, and represent a source of inexhaustable inspiration for her. Her memory is full of this kind of memories which she collects with passion and love.

For her artistic creations, Lamiel follows a method. Her creations are the result of a real work of recycling. She searches for materials, books and trinkets in flea markets or in used books shops, with the purpose of reusing what she finds. The cover of an old book, the part of a magazine, the back of a partition or an old paper serve as support for her work. From this materials, she creates, draws, pastes and paints. Her style is refined, minimalist: it allows her support to exist. Her work is not ostentatious, she just embellishes the material. The correspondances between the images, the lines and the words are numerous. Lamiel's work is poetic, lyrical and refined. Her paintings are an ode to traveling and happiness.

Lamiel presents her work regularly in France and Abroad. She has exhibited her work in Paris, Hong Kong and Brussels.
