Presentation
From squares to squares, initially inspired by by Robert Tatin, and then by 8 years spent in a contemporary art gallery of Rennes, the resolutely geometrical line, the colored works she proposes reveal two different series:
The "RT Series", with the look of mosaics, sometimes golden, shows diverse influences: the paintings and sculptures of Robert Tatin, the famous mosaic of the Odorico brothers, the 1900s, the Art Nouveau, Gustav Klimt. The forms, most of the time geometrical, show a particular attachment to the Concrete Art and to geometrical abstraction.
The second one, the "southern inspiration series" shows another influence but quite as important: the famous points and meanders of the Australian aboriginal artists which are revisited here in … Squares …
Two series, two influences, two manners to pay tribute to our ancestors and to revisit the practice of the mosaic in two dimensions through the simplest medium and shape: the painting and the square.
