Sphinx

As butterflies often do, Sphinx loves to twirl between the pistils of flowers in order to take refuge there. While still just a young caterpillar, he often captured leaves and insects in his wrist pencil to scribble them in his herbarium. Inspired by insects and plants, he learned to handle the bomb and the brush and chose to make it his art. Little by little, sticky shapes invade his illustrations, interspersed with a swarm of colorful lianas. He is inspired by both graffiti artists like Réso or Révok and illustrators like Aaron Horkey Claque.

We see the meticulousness of the cobwebs and sticky lettering that grows on the walls like ivy. The contrasts between dark textures and vivid colors reveal Sphinx as a luminous moving butterfly that perhaps hides in him, a small statue alone in the desert? "I am discreet, a bit like a statue sometimes". In eternal dissatisfaction, he repeats, corrects and recreates these works several times until they represent his truth. His hands like to hide hidden mysteries: skulls, flowers, little pieces of himself that want to reveal themselves to our eyes. "I no longer want to hide behind illustrations that do not reflect me". Both a mystical statue and a rare insect of the night, Sphinx lifts the veil on a universe both soft and sinuous
