Angelina Guez

Angelina Guez was born in Paris in 1988, to a music-loving father and a stylist mother. Angélina is educated in art and music. Self-taught since childhood: Drawing, Painting, sculpture, Songwriter, Interpreter. “We enjoy less of what we get than of what we hope for, and we are happy only before being happy” writes JJ Rousseau in La Nouvelle Héloïse. This is the key to his self-taught journey, namely, his joy in painting prevails over any goals to be achieved. Yet her journey as an apprentice artist guided her towards intentions and objectives that she will try to express. With parents keen on art, Angelina traveled from her earliest childhood to concerts, museums and exhibitions. She sings, draws and paints. Eager to enter this world, Matisse becomes his primary source of inspiration. Like him, she is passionate about Jazz and colors prevail in her production. She dances and sings with the colors, tries just as much to know them, to enter into harmony with them, to make them, to associate their differences. Angelina Guez thus plays at creating chromatic oxymorons. Music inspires her, she paints and dances in rhythm with her brushes. Chet Baker, Billie Holiday, Bob Marley, Ella Fitzgérald, Erroll Garner, Emiliania Torrini, Cesaria Evora, Serge Gainsbourg, as well as the compositions of her dad. It is graphically nourished by the colors of Matisse, Modigliani, Perdriolle, Hockney, De Saint Phall.
