Antoine Herscher is described as a silent storyteller. The photographer, a graphic designer by training, has a sharp and precise gaze. He knows how to capture the present to create a world parallel to ours. The Arbor project presented here, published by ActesSud, offers a dreamlike representation returning to the dawn of time the singular presence of these trees. Each of his images succeeds in sending back to back secular legends and psychoanalytic interpretation. Antoine Herscher paints a portrait of a nature which looks at him / us just as well, engaging in a strange conversation, almost supernatural, playful or confusing. A constant exchange that far from the spectacular is much more characterful.
