Presentation

Born June 30, 1963, Stéphane comes from a family of artists. When he was a child he was found to be exceptionally gifted and managed to develop aspects of his personality through the expression of his art. He has worked with many luminaries of the School of Nice, such as Arman or Sosno. Originality, a particularly imaginative spirit and a keen sense of perfectionism are the hallmarks of an artist who endlessly seeks the absolute. Very well known to the general public for his work on "Totor": This independent and somewhat pooch dog straight out of the artist's imagination (in fact his mother's Jack Russel inspired him with the idea of this sculpted dog in a block of Polystyrene, which comes to life thanks to the original colors affixed by its designer). At the same time, he is preparing his solo career as a sculptor. He began to sculpt robots from 1999 and incorporated everyday objects such as televisions, Hi-Fi systems ... Then, Bolongaro became interested in fantasized women and began to represent them in closed places in order to evoke their inaccessibility. He creates decorations such as the Arm of Light (1999), a series of Lamps (1999), Gift for the Mother-in-law (2000) and a Scaling (2002), then paintings using collages on wood . Later, he devoted himself to the Aliens with pieces such as the ET-nerant Traveler (2006) and the Cosmic Kiss (2012). He creates a sculpture inspired by his mother's Jack Russel: Totor. Totor is a dog leaning against a surface, facing his viewer looking at him tenderly. This sculpture exists in several dimensions ranging from 30cm to 3 meters.
