DOMI-A

Dominique Coenen was born in 1956 in Belgium. She has been living in the Var since 1996. After basic scientific studies, she trained in old-fashioned patina on furniture at the Applied Arts workshop in Louvain La Neuve. She practiced this technique for a few years for a decorator. She also follows courses at the Fine Arts of Châtelet (Belgium). In the Var, she takes part in the Drawing workshops of JP Torcolti. She takes part in Sumi-e (Japanese ink drawing technique) courses with the painter Alain Bonnefoit. In sculpture, she is self-taught. "Witness to a humanity ... to the strength, the fragility of beings through the work of the earth. Each event leaves a mark, an imprint that remains on the support like an engraving ... Share with the earth a intimacy, to let appear all these feelings, these feelings which live in me every day, joy, sadness, love, tenderness, curiosity, protection, oppression, loneliness ... My hands work with impulsivity, everything is in the earth, everything is in me, the human being is an inexhaustible source of inspiration ... "
