Francis Latreillle is a photographer and a painter. Born in January, the 8 in 1948 in Poilly les Gien in the Loiret. In 1967 he took an initiative which changed his life: he left the banks of the Loire and went to Israel in order to cover the six-days war. He left France-Soir in 1995 to cross southern and boreal lands with Jean Louis Etienne (expeditions in the North Pole, in Antarctica, Patagonia, in Spitzberg, in Greenland and Siberia).

He is passionate by all these regions threatened by the climatic reheating. In 1997 he is awarded by a World-Press Photo. Since 1998 he has been participating in the Mammuthusen Siberian expedition (a frozen mammuth almost from 20 000 years taken out of aces) with the "mammuth hunter" Bernard Bigues. He publishes his reports and his photographs in magazines such as Geo, Paris Match, Figaro Magazine, Life, Time, Newsweek...
