Franck Mercky

France Born in: 1967
Franck Mercky is a French sculptor born in 1967 and a graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Paris (1994). His fascination with metal work lead him to join the École Boulle (print-making and modeling) where he studied between 1983 and 1988. In 1994, he got his diploma from the Paris Beaux-Arts School in Paris (print-making and sculpture).

Franck Mercky hijacks objects giving to his work a fun and colorful direction. He denounces a world that is not so great through plastic war machines and toys. He is inspired by recycled materials: “recycling is very actual and I only need my welding studio, pieces of metal and found objects to create new and crazy shapes with new colors and graphisms.”

Franck Mercky teaches artistic expression at the Conservatory in Choisy-Le-Roi (France) and clay sculpture at the Maison pour Tous in St-Mandé (France).

He has also been teaching plastic arts in public schools since 2003. His work is known all over the world.
