Presentation

“The scenes that I represent take shape in surrealist or fantastic universes, which we all sometimes visit in dreams, and whose memory fades at dawn. It's a world populated by our ghosts and fantasies. Eros and Thanatos are its enchanters, and make us explore the cloudy and sacred beauty of human feelings… ”Christophe Stephan Durand He began drawing and painting lessons at the age of fifteen with a professor of Fine Arts in Paris, but chose to s '' orient towards the audiovisual sector at the University. A graduate of Paul Valery III Montpellier, he shot two short cinema films, “Le plongeon” and “le secret d'Yvette”, and worked on the production of numerous “live” audiovisual events. Then he taught post-production at the EICAR film school for a few years before going to work abroad. After London and Tunis, he moved to New York then Montreal. He worked successively as creative director for "Lumen Gallery" in Manhattan NYC, director of the capture of artistic events, including several traditional Chinese operas, and director of TV commercials and trailers for feature films. It was during his stay in New York that his passion for oil painting emerged as a daily necessity, to the point of becoming an obsession, which has never left him. Today he presents his work as a painter for the first time to the public.
