Presentation

After studying at the School of Fine Arts in Toulouse, Juanca followed a training course in the teaching of the Arts at the École Normale de Toulouse then professed in St Girons where her meeting with the poet Gaston Massat was decisive for the pursuit of his pictorial research. She stayed in Tehran, The Hague and Pointe Noire without ceasing to paint and exhibit. Back in France, she reinserted herself into artistic activity through personal exhibitions in Paris and Switzerland and through participation in numerous group exhibitions. The drift of nebulae: Her painting went through different stages before ending up in the abstract after a fairly long figurative period where she notably worked on the effects of matter. The abstract project that she develops favors emotion over form. This project is influenced by the images of the Universe revealed by astrophysicists, images with which she is imbued to create paintings which do not seek to reproduce the shapes and colors of the cosmos but which can sometimes evoke them by chance or by intuition. Attracted for a long time by the abstract painting which she wants more emotional than formal, her current inspiration finds its source in the images of the Universe revealed by the astrophysicists and their telescopes. "The Universe is beautiful: the sumptuous images of stellar nurseries or the elegant lines of the spiraling arms of a galaxy touch us deep in our soul", Trinh Xuan Thuan, astrophysicist. Juanca immerses herself in these images, their shapes and their colors to create paintings which, without seeking to reproduce them, can sometimes resemble them by chance or by intuition. His research then extended to Black and White, drawing inspiration from André Brahic's question: "At the end of color ... black?" which concerns astrophysics but which sums up its approach well after a very colorful phase.
