In Lille in the 80s, the future Evok grew up, already full of pencils in its pockets. His interest in the visual and plastic arts later led him to an art school in Belgium where he obtained an illustrator diploma, then he turned to visual communication. He then discovers the vast possibilities that computer software offers in the creative process. Returning to his first attraction for painting, he juggles between brushes, spray cans, stencils ... His perpetual search for graphic elaboration and composition of images will lead him later to associate photography and tools with it. digital. His very personal style is part of the world of 3D, realistic movement and more recently abstract realism. This inspiration emerges from a vast artistic culture and various influences: the painters of the renaissance, the chiaroscuro technique, design, photography, travel and finally music, which brings an atmosphere conducive to creation. Asked about his work, the Lille resident insisted on his passion for painting and his need to multiply the supports. He does not seek to convey a message but to shake up the codes of composition. If the portrait is his predilection, the recourse to the games of transparencies characterizes his work of colors. All formats are represented, from canvas to the wall - some frescoes painted in urban areas are signed collectively (in particular with the Kollectif Le Center). The study around the portrait is available both in painting and in computer-based photography, the two being sometimes combined. In recent years, Evok has been published in trade books and journals. The public can discover his work through exhibitions in the North and West of France. Once again going off the beaten track, the artist regularly collaborates with individuals, companies and communities on decoration projects, customization of objects, clothing or furniture.
