Born in Paris in 1972, Seth, alias Julien Malland, is an urban artist known for his murals usually depicting children. Graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts in 2000, urban art opened up new artistic fields to him, less traditional than those he had been able to study until then. He calls himself a “globe painter" because he has been traveling the world since 2003 to meet new people, to be inspired by artists from new horizons and to spread his art. He is known to the general public thanks to his experiences as an animator. of television programs. The artist has produced reports on urban art for channels such as Canal +. Co-founder of the publishing house "L'oeil d'Horus", he is the author of several books describing urban culture. In addition, he launched the “Wasted Talent" collection dedicated to graffiti and he also participated in the production of the Lascars comic strip.

He began his career in the streets of Paris in the 20th arrondissement where he made his first compositions. The artist draws his inspiration from Miyazaki, famous director of cult Japanese animated films such as Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke, but also from comic book author Hugo Pratt. We also find the influence of Schiele whom he admires, as well as that of his master Klimt. His compositions represent childhood, he depicts a world filled with innocence and recklessness. “Childhood is something that touches everyone. Children have that hope and innocence in their eyes that adults have lost, "according to the artist. “But if I started to paint children, it's because when you travel, you see them everywhere in the street! ". He seeks to transmit messages by choosing to paint in places of passage in order to shock, to challenge passers-by, or at least “to awaken their benevolence". He considers himself a supporter of street art and not of street art, a term that is too reductive according to him and linked to the notion of illegality. The artist is part of a more global movement as he expresses it here: “In street art, there is the dimension of protest, of illegality, à la Banksy. When I travel, I also go to see artists who paint in the street, artisans who make lettering for concerts… ".
