Presentation

Born in 1978, Sorane Rotellini is a French artist. She has been living and working in France since 2008.

The artist spent her childhood in the Pyrenees with her mother and grand-mother. She is fascinated by the vastness of nature and the complexity of human beings. She discovered art at high school and studied visual arts in Toulouse, specializing in color. During this time, Sorane Rotellini's research revolved around nature and questioning the origins. Inspired by her seamstress grand-mother, the theme of couture is repeated in her work. When she graduated, she decided to leave and discover the world. She traveled for five years to Eastern Europe, Asia and U.S.A.

While working as an artist, she created a company side by side, specializing in colors with her sister-in-law and friends. She also began collaborating with architects from Hanoi and founded Art'Out à Arrout, a Contemporary art Biennial in Arriège.

Her maternal life influenced her art, through the arrival of seed and the egg in her paintings. This theme gave life to a series of great paintings like "L'oiseau sein", where Sorane Rotellini addresses conflicts between existential imprisonment and the desire for independence. In her last series "le saut du Batracien", the artist has created hybrid creatures, half bird, half-woman.
