Presentation

Dominique Blais was born in 1974 in Châteaubriand, France. He lives and works in Paris.

From the very beginning of his artistic practice in the mid-2000s, Dominique Blais has always developed his work in light of contextual logic. Space, temporality and constraint (s) are thus the subjects and / or the objects that the artist invests and questions in order to develop a conceptual and formal response while working with the predominant elements of his approach: the sensitive and physical perception of our environment, the report to the invisible and the inaudible, or, amongst others, the materialization of time.

The question of materials, both physical and evanescent, is substantial in his work. Not limited to a particular eld, he expands his visual vocabulary through the use of a great range of mediums and techniques (drawing, ceramics, photography, installation, sound, video, etc.) that allows him to conceive and elaborate proposals echoing the problems of his research process.
