Artist whose work can be considered as "Outsider Art".
Valerie uses her sewing machine to delimit the space in which she takes us into her very personal, imaginative inner world, sometimes close to science fiction. She uses cardboard on which she stings to the machine, pencils color, pens, ink, acrylic or just paint for the walls. It makes us travel in a universe on the borders of fantasy and dreamlike, a universe inhabited by more or less imaginary animals, ghosts and sometimes monstrous "critters" (Jerome Bosch being one of his favorite painters).
Skyscrapers rub shoulders with small houses symbolizing the fragility that sometimes can inhabit it... These large buildings are gigantic and small doors lead to the interior... she says it's very difficult to access all its heights symbolize the Spiritual Elevation... she also tells us that she realizes in her drawings things she can not do in the Sixth. She watches a lot of television that allows her to discover the world by staying on the spot, hence the importance of television antennas on the roofs of the constructions of her drawings.
Valérie's creations are full of delicacy, spontaneity and freshness that make us feel good. The frame is often black but the bright and well-mastered colors outweigh the "black of her life" that does not always spoiled... it results in the viewer a rather mysterious impression but positive... is not it a gift she makes us in her own way?
