Presentation

Sandrine Donnio Renaud tried her hand at modeling clay for the first time in 2011. In contact with clay, she feels connected to her family history and sculpture becomes a mode of expression. In her work she tries to capture the harmony of human bodies, the sensual curve of a back, the nervous musculature of a torso, the knotty aspect of a hand which seems to have lived several lives. In 2013, her interest in volumes led her to learn about plasterwork, which enabled her to consider large-format sculptures. There, the bodies are deformed, take their freedom in a slender or overwhelmed movement and the whiteness of the material captures or returns the light according to the roughness. She lives and works in Paris.
